From Website Recovery to Nearly Nine Years of Digital Support
The engagement began with recovering a hacked WordPress website from a physical backup and moving it to new hosting. Over nearly nine years, I provided design, development, maintenance, and content support as the firm’s attorneys, practice areas, locations, and branding changed. The work included responsive layouts, SEO setup, analytics, and a later migration to Wix, adapting the website to the firm’s evolving needs.
Project Overview
I provided ongoing freelance website design, development, maintenance, and content support to a California law firm and its successor firms from 2016 through 2025.
The engagement began when the firm’s WordPress website was hacked and taken offline. After recovering the website from a physical backup, I restored its online presence, established new hosting, and continued supporting the firm through changing attorneys, services, locations, branding, and organizational structures.
Over nearly nine years, the work expanded from emergency website recovery into a long-term digital partnership involving WordPress development, responsive design, website maintenance, SEO setup, analytics, and a later migration from WordPress to Wix.
The Challenge
The original website was unavailable following a security incident. The firm needed to restore its online presence without rebuilding everything from scratch. After the recovery, the website also needed to remain accurate as the practice evolved. Attorney profiles, service offerings, office locations, case results, imagery, and articles required frequent updates. Later changes to the firm created the need for separate websites and updated brand identities.
